CORPUS CHRISTI — Before Nueces County Junior Livestock Show activities begin Saturday in Robstown, sip free coffee, munch a free breakfast taco and meet state Rep. Abel Herrero, D-Robstown, and other elected officials from 8:30 to 9 a.m.
Herrero, the incumbent for District 34, is running unopposed in the Democrat primary in March and will face Republican candidate Connie Scott in November.
The meet-and-greet at Rolando’s Mexican Restaurant, 131 W. Ave. A, is an outreach for voters to ask questions and learn elected officials’ priorities, an organizer said.
Officials invited to attend include state Rep. Solomon Ortiz Jr., D-Corpus Christi., County Judge Loyd Neal, 105th District Court Judge Manuel Bañales, District Attorney Carlos Valdez, Nueces County Tax Assessor Ronnie Canales, Sheriff Jim Kaelin and Robstown city council members.
